Japanese Secret to Long Life

Studies show that longevity of the Japanese is directly related to their diet. They only eat up to 80% full. Underfeeding and caloric restriction actually lead to longevity! If you don’t have a sense of what 80 % full feels like, here are two different ways of gauging how much to eat at a meal.

1. USE YOUR HANDS.
Have six servings of carbs, six servings of protein and six servings of fat per day. Some say that the size of our stomach is equal to the size of two cupped hands held side by side.

· One serving of carbs is the amount of food you can fit into one hand.
· One serving of protein is the amount of food you can fit into one palm.
· One serving of fat is the size of one thumb.

2. USE YOUR WEIGHT.

· Determine your ideal weight in pounds and make that equal to the amount of carbs in grams that you can have in one day.
· Half of your body weight equals the amount of protein grams you can have each day.Half of your protein grams equals the amount of fat in grams that you can have each day.
Eat healthier, Live Longer.
